Base model was made in Max, detail modelling and texturing in zbrush. Hair w/ Max hair. Rendered in Max.

Sorry, no fancy background, just glad I can finally show some of my work from back then.

Cinderella

This is a concept for a game that was unfortunately cancelled. The premise focused around twisted fairy tales and this is the twisted princess Cinderella.

She has the ability to generate heat - so much so, she can shape glass at will. Her entire body has been burnt accidentally with her own power so she wears a wig, mask, and covers nearly every inch of her body w/ clothing.

I built the mask, slipper, and burnt head in max and zbrush. I montaged the renders in the final image w/ other photosourcing. I hand painted (uh, in photoshop ) the hair, tassles, eyes, and the designs on the pillow and mask.

Snow White is actually a malicious little girl that likes to kill other little girls, often by poisoning them with apples.
Some of the jewelry, the black lace, background, and the apple were photosourced. The rest is hand painted on this particular image.

Coil (Jet-boot Chick)

This character was partially influenced by the art of Sorayama and James "Hawkprey" Hawkins. I also wanted a hint of anime style with the background.
How was the image made: Pretty typical modeling. I used materials vs. texturing for everything but the background. I used Max particle effects and warp for the jetboot smoke. The background is actually a giant tube that spins to give the impression of movement for the animation (can be viewed on my website @ www.3dprofessional.com).

Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher

I've been a Punisher comics fan since I was a kid. Tim Bradstreet was a pretty hefty influence for the hair and face. I also tried to capture a bit of the Mike Zeck craziness in the eyes and eyebrows. And the armor was inspired (but heavily modified) by Klaus Janson's makeshift armor from Punisher unlimited #2 (thought the metal chest plate w/ spray paint was cool as a kid and it stuck with me).
How was the image made:Body, pants, and head were zbrush (base model max). Did a little denting on the armor in Zbrush as well. The body and head texturing was w/ Zbrush. I used Zmapper for the head. The rest was traditional modeling and texturing.

The body and face details were modified in Zbrush. The chain was the trickiest part - I used an IK modifier to allow me to shape the chain around her body.
